Justice and his Boy Scout troop went camping last weekend to a place in middle Tennessee called Grimes Canoe Base. Scouts can camp and take a canoe or kayak down the Buffalo River. I am thankful someone took some pictures.
It's absolutely beautiful. When The Coach was the leader of this scout troop, he loved this trip. He claims it was his favorite camping trip of all of them. I can certainly see why.
And there he is, the Canoe Master. Hahahaha, not so much. Just kidding.
Water shenanigans.
This picture is why I like the scouting program. Those are grown men, and they are having an arm-wrestling contest. This is what boys and their adult supervision ought to be doing on the weekend. Good clean fun. Canoeing, grilling, sleeping under the stars, and arm wrestling.
I got this picture texted to me twenty minutes after they left camp. Justice's friend Will is knocked out. Justice, not so much.
Ten minutes later, I got this one.
He was exhausted when he got home, and hoarse. This is the second campout in a row where he came home with no voice, and that can only mean one thing.
He talks too much. Constantly, actually.
I've had a tough time letting him go on these trips. I know his ADHD is in full swing and they see a side of him that nobody else really gets to see. But my only other option is not to let him go, and that's definitely not the right answer. I'm just thankful he is with good people who love him all the time, not just when he's taking his medication. Bless his heart. The Coach tells me I worry too much, that all the boys act like loons on camping trips and that I need to chill out a little bit. I'll just have to take his word for it, he's arm wrestled with the best of them!
