Jackson has always liked his hair to be what he would call "BIG". He likes it to be long and curly, and has always hated to get his hair cut. Every once in awhile though, he gets tired of the tangles and his "morning hair", and asks me to cut it. When he does, I stop whatever it is that I am doing and cut the boys hair. He will change his mind in a fraction of a second, and then the window to the haircut is shut for what could be a very very long time.
While I do love his curls, I am a huge fan of super short, cut-with-the-clippers hair for both boys and men. I don't like long hair on men or boys, I think it's gross. I cut the boys hair, and luckily for me, Justice prefers his hair SUPER short. Jack, on the other hand... Not so much.
I think Jack's hair was the longest it's ever been this time. When he wakes up, it's a hot miserable mess.
This is Jack's "morning hair". Oh, it's SO tangly. I have to spray a bunch of detangler on it and oh-so-slowly pick it out, then add water... then add more detangler, then add moisturizer. It takes a considerable amount of time, and he's a boy, so an hour after I "fix it", it looks miserable again.
This is what it looks like all picked-out. I took this picture right before I cut it today. I call him Kramer from Seinfield. Tell me you can't see the resemblance.
Joe was very sad when Jack said he wanted a hair cut. To my utter dismay, he actually tried to talk him out of it. He loves Jack's curls. Justice also had curls when he was little, only they were a little more workable than Jack's. They were very soft and perfect ringlet curls. Jack's are a mess.
As a matter of fact, while I was typing this, Joe came in to see what I was doing... He saw the picture above and said:
"Ohhhh Mommy! What have you done! I miss my boys fro, this is a sad, sad situation."
Then he hung his head, sighed, and left the room.

This is the hair pile after I cut both boys hair today. That's a lot of hair on the right... Justice's meager offering is on the left. Yes, it's gross. I know. A picture of a pile of hair. Sorry.
And during Jack's haircut today:
Jack: "JUSTICE!!!! This does NOT HURT. YOU ARE A HUGE BABY!!!"
Ahhhhh.... Yes. Justice hates getting his hair cut. He moans and cries about how I'm "scraping off his skin" and how I'm going to "slice off his ear". Clearly Jack is scared of getting his hair cut because of his big tough brother. Way to go Justice.
And THIS is the cutest little boy ever.
It will probably be another year before he lets me cut it again, but that's OK. I will take the haircuts where I can get them with this little ball of fire.
