We left for Jellystone a mere two hours after school was out on the last day of school. My kids were absolutely fried from the school year.
This was Justice after the last day of school. He looks exhausted, and he was. His brain just sort of shut down on the way home from school that day. He was so busy during the last month of school, I really was just waiting for the crash. Thankfully he lasted till it was all over.
And this was Jack. Laying in the driveway, soaking up the sun while eating a sandwich. He was tired too. I don't think either one of them would have made it another week.
Nice. No words. I didn't do well with pictures on this trip. They tie dyed shirts, played pool bingo (Justice won again, third year in a row), went to an ice-cream social, roasted marshmallows and did all sorts of other activities. I did not do a great job documenting it all. I'll do better next time. I was tired too. It ain't easy mothering these boys.
Waterslide fun. Bo Mack bonus shot in the bottom right hand corner.
Bo loves the water, and I'm glad. The goggles serve no purpose but he sure loves to wear them.
Look out ladies.
The heathens at the playground.
Ha. Bo feet.
The big one likes to jump off the swing. Boys get so dumb when they turn into teenagers. It's almost like they want to hurt themselves.
The tongue. Haha. He's concentrating.
Bo loved the jumping pillow. He really wasn't jumping himself so much as Bubbie bouncing him around with his own jumping. "jump me Bubbie, jump me!"
Bo was not scared of the waterslide.
And finally, Saturday morning I started to see smiles. No more tired frowny faces, but some legit smiles.
Jack ate three ears of corn one night. I promised him I'd let y'all know that.
Love that face. But whew, look at those eyebrows. Good thing you don't even notice them because of all that hair.
Jack has reached a new level of long hairdom. The ponytail. It was actually my idea, because do you have any idea how hard it is to detangle that mess after a hard day of playing and sweating and swimming? Lucky for me he jumped right on board with it. I've come to terms with Jack's desire for longer hair so now I'm just trying to find ways to make my life easier as far as taking care of it.
Ponytail for the win.
The rocket launch was back this year and lots of fun. Both boys had a great time with it.
Yogi was on hand throughout the weekend, the kids always love that part. I always wonder how the poor dude in the suit keeps from heatstroke while he's suited up.
Jack was sunsoaked mess. He got a little burnt this time around.
And Bo? He was trying really hard to remove this sign from our campsite.
The safest place for him was on Dad's shoulder's. He had a great time this year. He is old enough to run around with his brother's now and has finally learned that the fire is not where he wants to end up so he has been much more careful. Thank heavens. Whew.
And finally, the annual group shot from Jellystone. This is our favorite place to camp, and we are going back for an entire week over the 4th of July. Can't wait!
