Report Cards

I'm happy to write that both boys did well on their report cards this term.  Jack got all "+'s" and "S's", and Justice got all A's.

I met with Jack's teacher for our first parent-teacher conference, and it went much better than I expected.  She said Jack is doing very well, and does not like to be wrong so he works on something tirelessly until he understands and gets it right.  She also used words like "smart", excellent behavior", "model student", "mature" and "drama king".  He is apparently very sensitive and emotional like Justice, if he gets something wrong he cries.  He enjoys the teacher's attention and spends a considerable amount of time vying for it.  He likes to win, she said.  Gee, wonder where he got that from (cough cough, The Coach, cough cough).

Go Jack.

Justice did well, but he had a scary moment there with Social Studies.  He got an 88% on his final exam and nearly tossed himself off the roof over it.  He entered full blown "drama king" mode until grades were posted.  Come to find out that 88% was nearly the highest grade in the class, begging the question from me as to why nobody got a A on the final…  I have no answer, I'm just glad his grade was high enough that it was still an A after all was said and done.

His parent-teacher conferences were quick and easy.  I have to tell you that his Math teacher was funny.  She has been teaching since dinosaurs roamed the earth, her patience is slim, and she has zero filter, as one would expect from a teacher that has been teaching since BC.

"I really like Justice.  He's a nerd, but he's not the kind of nerd that goes (insert facial expression that looks like she's being electrocuted) and can't hold a conversation with the regular and normal kids in the room.  He's such a smart kid and most kids with his level of smart are so inadequate socially that nobody wants to be around them.  Not Justice though, people actually like him."

WOW!  Did that just happen?  Hahahahaha!!!!

Did I mention Justice was standing there, mouth agape?

It was truly the funniest thing that's ever happened in a parent teacher conference.

Good job boys, keep up the good work!
