Report Cards

I haven't had a whole lot of material do to any posts about the boys, but I didn't want this to get lost in the mix.  Report cards are important, especially when they are good ones.

This marking periods grades are listed in the "RC2" column.  Three 100%'s and 2 99%'s.  And thank goodness for those high grades, look in the "SemEx" (semester exams) column directly to the right of it.  If his grades hadn't been so high to begin with he wouldn't have gotten all A's as his semester average (SemAvg column).

Why did he do so poorly on his exams?  That's a good question, one I'm still a little worried about.  After a lot of research, it turns out that exams are being done differently this year.  They are standardized throughout the county, and all students take the same test.  I've basically concluded that he didn't do so well because the test was written differently than the material was taught, and he couldn't see the answer because he learned it a different way.  Not an excuse, and definitely something he is more aware of now.  I keep going back to that "logic" grade on his TCAP's, and it makes sense that he would have trouble seeing an answer differently than he learned it.   It was a close call for sure, but thankfully his grades were super high before!
