Jacoby is Nine Months Old!

I'm slacking, I should have had this post done a week ago.  But I couldn't.  Why?  Because I've been chasing around after the baddest little baby in the land, that's why.  This post will be quick and to the point, because you are crawling around trying to take off your diaper.  We can't have that, there's no time to dawdle on the computer these days!

You learned to get over the baby gate.  It all started one night when I couldn't figure out how you got into the kitchen.  I assumed you somehow got through Shandi's room and went that way.  The doors were shut, so I should have known better.   The next morning, I watched you bulldoze your way through the gate.  I tightened the gate, but guess what?  You scoffed at me.  You  put your feet in the holes in the gate, climbed up, and tossed yourself over.  Head first.  You cried for a second.  Then you were gone.

Do you know why you like to go through the gate?  To get to the kitchen.  The place where we keep the delicious dog food.

Mmmmmm.  Dog fooooooood.

And because dog food can leave you parched, you REALLY like to drink their water.  With your face in the bowl, just like they do.  You also like to tip the bowl over and get water all over every square inch of the dining room floor.

You also like to get through the gate to get to your doggies.  You love them VERY much.  But you aren't ready to be around them all the time because you like to eat them.  You think you are a dog.  You lay in bed with them, and bite them.  You aren't trying to be mean, you are copying their behavior.  And you are the luckiest kid in the world that you have the best and most tolerant dogs ever.  I surely would have bitten you by now if I were a dog.  But your two dogs lived through Jack's babyhood and nothing will top that.

Who me?  Nope, not me.  I'm not messing with the dog.

You also like to chew on stuff.  Because you FINALLY got some more teeth!  Well, exactly one more is officially poking through your gums as of this writing, but there are three more due to erupt any day now.  It's about time!  You got your first two teeth at four months, and nothing since!

You are rough.  You always have a bump, bruise, or scratch.  In this case, you tore all the skin completely off of the end of your nose.  Nobody know how, you didn't even cry.  Just showed up at my feet with a bloody nose.

Boy are you a mess-maker.  I clean the craft room ten times a day.  You mess it up again within minutes.

But seriously, who can be mad at this face?

You are the happiest baby I have ever met.  You are rough, you are indeed 100% boy.  But you are the joy in all of our hearts.  Your brothers tolerate you and love you in spite of how charming you can be and how many of their things you have chewed marks into.

You are also almost walking.  I'm pretty sure by the next months posting you will be moving along on your own.  I'm in no hurry.  You get into enough trouble on all fours, I can't even imagine the sort of fun we will have once you can RUN!

We love you little buddy, so go easy on us please!
