We took a trip to the zoo during Spring Break, and it was a ton of fun. Jack has been to the zoo before, but at his age every trip is like his first since his memory isn't the keenest. All of the animals were actually out and active so the boys got to see everything. Our first stop was the cat houses and something had them extremely agitated. They were all pacing the cages and making all sorts of noise. It was honestly sort of scary.
After the cat house we went to see the monkeys. Jack immediately thought the gorilla looked like his Dad, and then Justice told him he looked like an Orangutan, and all hell broke loose. Jack was so mad, it was comical.
Jack: "I don't look like that, I don't have orange hair"
Justice: "Uhhhh, I hate to break it to you, but you do have orange hair."
Jack: "No I don't, I have black hair like Dad."
Justice: "Dude, Dad shaves his head, he's bald and doesn't have any hair".
Jack lunged at him and I had to peel them apart. It was cute in a Tipton County Day at the Zoo sort of way. Good old country boys in action at the zoo.
We went to the Sea Lion show, but my main man Jack wasn't feeling it. He was a troublemaker and I had to keep my eye on him the entire time. He just had that slick look on his face, like he was just waiting for me to blink so he could get in the water.
The dinosaur exhibit was my favorite. I loved it, and Jack loved it. Justice was scared to death. He stuck by my side the entire time we were there. Jack was not scared in the slightest bit, and just to get my point across...
The first thing he did was stick his head in the dinosaur's mouth. Who does that? Jack does. Sigh.
The dinosaurs were all motorized, they moved and made noises. Some of them even spit water. Very cool and interactive.
We enjoyed the zoo so much that I plan to get a family pass so we can go more often this summer while school is out. I especially like that they allow cooler's inside, and have a nice picnic area so you can bring your own lunch. It will definitely be a routine event for us during the warmer months.
Jack stuck his hand in the fence to pet the big stinky cow, and the cow swatted Jack's hand with his tail. It was funny, Jack kept his hand out like it was broken until we could wash it because it stunk so bad.
When Jack first saw the giraffe his mouth dropped with shock. You don't really understand how tall a giraffe is on TV. His perspective changed just slightly after he saw one in real life.
Uhhhhh, sure, you look like a flamingo Justice.
I'd be remiss not to add how thankful I am that I get the opportunity to be home with my boys everyday. Not a day goes by that I am not reminded how fortunate I am to spend so much time with them. I am truly blessed.

LOVE, LOVE zoos! Great form of entertainment for all ages. Every place we go we seem to find one, even passing through cities on vacation, and it is always a hit! The season pass is the way to go. For as many times as we went whe. We were there, I certainly wish we would have purchased them. It will never get old for you or the boys. Always a great outing to take some friends if you are up to more as well, but it appears you have your hands full at times trying to keep Jack from playing with the seals. LOL. They have special events at Halloween and stuff too. Miss ya'!! Love reading about how things are going for you. Getting tons of ideas.
