Jack is trying to be a runner himself. The problem with Jack and running is that he's quite short, and that means his legs are short. He's giving it his best go at it, though. I give him a ton of credit for trying.
The way the PE competitions work is that each class at school (per grade) has a contest to see who can do a particular running race the best. The winner from each class goes on to the final round, which consists of one race with all the best runners.
Jack won the 1 mile race for his class two years in a row, which meant he got to race in the finals last year, and this year.
Last year, Jack won third place in the 1 mile run, and his class got 3rd place in the relay too.
This is the relay team, comprised of the four fastest people in his class.
And here are the kids that ran the 1 mile race.
This is the picture from this year. He got second place in the one mile run. He also ran the 50 yard dash and got 4th place.
Great job, Jack. We are proud of you. Jack has started running at home, he's trying to build up to run a 5k. I think running is a great sport for Jack, because it's an individual sport rather than a team sport.
