Not only did he make it, but he did an outstanding job.
Jack is on the straight A Honor Roll for the second school year in a row. Jack also got the Top Reader award this year. And Jack also got "the" Library Award. I've never had a kid get that one before. Justice asked me after Jack's awards program why I thought he never got it and I had to remind him I think I purchased about 30 lost library books during his tenure at elementary school. Pretty sure Librarians are less than thrilled with kids that lose books. Duh.
Anyway, we are very proud of Jack.
While he received his Top Reader Award, the teacher announced that Jack had an astronomical number of AR (Accelerated Reader) points this year. I knew he had a bunch, but I didn't know that was a high number. He reads every single night. He is definitely a reader. Since Christmas when he received his first set of The Boxcar Children books, he has read all of those and is currently reading volume 15.
Jack still doesn't like school, if you were wondering. It's pretty clear that he doesn't hate it as much as he did last year, but he still doesn't like it. He muddles through.
His teacher sent me a text about two weeks ago with a picture attached. Jack was on the playground playing and she heard him laugh.
And? Right? OK, so what, he laughed.
That was the first time she had heard him laugh THE WHOLE SCHOOL YEAR. I don't even know how it's possible to suppress laughter for that long, but Jack found a way.
Jack never gets in trouble, he always gets outstanding conduct marks, his grades are terrific, the teacher loves him and apparently he never laughs at school. That doesn't seem to go hand in hand, but ok. I am just thankful he keeps going through the motions and the desire to beat Justice's GPA is always his main goal. And guess what? He beat Justice by .05 this year! Hahaha! Way to go Jack!

Great job, Jack, we are proud of you and love you!
