Snow!

We had a pretty mild winter up until two weeks ago, when a tiny bit of ice shut the south down for a week!  The problem was that the temperatures stayed well below freezing for a week so the little ice we got never melted.  The kids had five (or maybe six) snow days for a tiny smidgen of ice.  They weren't complaining.  After that little storm, we figured that would be it for the season and started to look forward to spring, although there was definite disappointment that we didn't get any snow this year.

And suddenly, the weatherman started to predict another storm.  Snow this time, supposedly.

Thankfully, he was right!  Lots and lots of soft pretty snow!  The kids were SO happy, and I was too.  I love to look at the snow, from inside the house.  LOL.

I took this picture from inside my front door.  Ha.

Bo loved to play outside in the snow.  He stayed outside for hours before I made him come in.  His hands finally got cold.

As soon as the snowball fight started, Bo was out of there and fast.

The temperature stayed low enough to keep the snow from melting for several days.  On day two, Justice built a snow fort.  He was outside for TEN hours that day.  He was burnt to a crisp when he came in the house, and exhausted.  That's what I'm talking about, get out there and play!

Of course we had snow ice cream.  Yum.  Two days in a row, even.  I didn't eat any of day two's ice cream, because DAY TWO SNOW.  Yuk, lol!  No thanks.  The kids don't care though.  I don't either, a little dirt won't kill them.

The power stayed on the whole time, yay!  I didn't have to worry about running out of food because I have a ton stored up and the kids got two and a half snow days from school.  The temperatures are warming up, but I am SO glad that it finally snowed!  Plenty of good memories were made and the boys  had lots of fun.  We seriously didn't leave the house for five straight days, and that felt good too.  My brain needed the rest.

Now, goodbye winter.  I've had enough.  Don't let the door smack you on the way out.  I'm ready to go camping.

  1. I am so glad we got real snow too! I don't think we've had real snow since Sarah was a baby. And you're right, after that freakish entire week out for a skiff of ice, every kid needed some real good snow to play in. Glad you got a rest and the boys had fun.
