I bet you are thinking this will be some sort of sappy and heartwarming post about a present that's not actually a material gift or something equally symbolic.
Nope. It's about a Christmas present. And it gets a post all of its own because watching Justice open presents is the best thing ever.
Two years ago, Justice had the nerve to ask us to buy him a pair of Beats by Dre headphones. Ha! They are very expensive headphones, and there was no way in h-e-double-hockeysticks we were ever going to get him a pair. He begged, pleaded, blah blah blah. Not going to happen. Two birthdays and a Christmas went by with him eagerly hoping we would surprise him with those headphones, but we did not. After his last birthday, he finally got a clue and gave up. Instead, we got him a pair of six dollar over the ear headphones. We kid him all the time about them. We call them "Feats" instead of "Beats". You know, fake beats. Feats. Ha.
But unbeknownst to him, we watched him and his six dollar headphones very carefully. And he's taken very good care of those six dollar headphones.
So this year, I got a smoking good deal on not only a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, but a limited edition pair in his favorite Nike Volt color. I wrapped them and buried them deep under the tree where he wouldn't notice the box.
Joe and I were SO excited about him opening that gift. We really couldn't wait to see the look on his face. He is such a joy to give gifts to, you can see the appreciation and happiness all over his face. So we knew this would be fun.
And it was. He did not disappoint.
And that folks, is a Christmas present win.
