Another Accident for Shandi

But at least it wasn't her fault this time.

Shandi left work and was driving north on Highway 51 when she was hit by a drunk driver.  The drunk driver left a bar that is situated in the median between the north and southbound lanes of the highway.  When you leave the bar, you can only turn left.  This fool not only turned right after he left the bar, but he never turned his lights on.  Shandi came around a corner of the highway and hit him head on.  Luckily, the police and an ambulance were on the scene within seconds of impact because the owner of the bar saw that he turned the wrong way and immediately called 911.  

Shandi hit him and it spun her car completely around and flipped it.  By the grace of God, she was able to climb out the window of the car and walked away with no major injuries.  She has a bruise on her arm and a knot on her head, but that's it.  The other driver was not so lucky.  His car flipped off the bridge, and exploded upon hitting the ground below.  I do not currently know the condition of the driver, but he was alive when they took him to the hospital.  I do know that he was so intoxicated that he couldn't remember his name.

I got a text message from a friend the next day.

My Dad and I joked about how my Mom must be her guardian angel and how busy she must be, haha.  

We are thankful she is all right, this accident could have been fatal and we are so happy that she walked away from it.  Her car is totaled this time but who cares?  Not us, that's for sure.
