We are inching closer to the magical one year mark!
This month, you are pulling up on everything and cruising around holding on to whatever you can. You can let go for a second or two, but that's it. It won't be long before you are walking. And I couldn't be happier! You are gaining a little more independence every day, and are able to spend more time playing with toys and other things.
You also love to put stuff in your mouth. And as soon as I see you do it and go to get it from you, you smile from ear to ear and take off as quickly as you can.
You eat like a grown man already. There is nothing that you don't like, and I pretty much give you everything except nuts, honey and shellfish and the other obviously baby inappropriate stuff like hot dogs and grapes. You hum with gusto through dinner. I still feed you breakfast from a spoon because you love oatmeal, but you feed yourself with your fingers through every other meal. You are drinking out of a cup pretty well, and I hope to have you off of the bottle in the next few months. You are waving bye-bye, clapping your hands together, and blowing kisses (sort of). You definitely favor your left hand for everything. I know it's too early to tell for sure, but so far you don't use your right hand at all. You certainly don't ever interchangeably use your hands. If you already have something in your left hand and want to pick something else up, you will put down whatever is in your left hand to pick it up rather than use your right hand. Your paternal grandfather and your oldest brother Jamaal are both lefties, so it's not too much of a surprise.
You still sleep really badly. It's OK, I do too. You come by it honestly. I can't hardly blame you for not sleeping when I don't sleep well either. Such is the curse of the non-sleeping Mack babies.
You are SO HAPPY! All the time, you are smiley and laughing. You have the sweetest deep belly laugh and your eyes tear up when you laugh really hard. We love to make you laugh just so we can hear it.
Seriously, just look at this face! The new hat that your Grandpa bought you in Australia tickled you beyond words.
You worship the ground your Bubbie walks on. You love him to pieces. You nap on him.
You love to accompany him on the piano. When Bubbie sings, which is pretty darn much all the time, you sing too. It's VERY cute.
Bubbie also reads to you. And he snuggles you ALL THE TIME.
You are VERY handsome. Your hair is finally starting to grow in. It is very soft, and very dark. And a little bit curly.
You wore the Christmas tree OUT with your chewing and unwrapping of presents. Come Christmas morning, our tree looked like a pack of wild wolf puppies had gotten hold of it.
Thank you for being such a sweet little baby. You are good natured, smiley, and the perfect fit for our crazy family.
