The past three months have gone by in a blur it seems. It has been a hectic and busy time in our home, with a lot of changes. Not just with having a baby, but with a lot of traveling and your Dad's retirement, too. You, my sweet boy, have handled it all like the little trooper that you are.
We have done so much traveling since you were born! You have become a great sidekick for your brothers. They have enjoyed watching movies with you, talking to you and reading to you in the car. Both Justice and Jack put in a lot of effort towards making your car trips comfortable, and you reward them with plenty of baby talk and smiles.
Your little face lights up like the sun whenever Justice is around. Your smiles are instantaneous, and you already lean towards him for him to hold you when he comes close to you. You love Jack too, but you always size him up a little before smiling. You know, just to make sure his intentions are good. Jack loves you VERY much though, and I've never seen the tender side of Jack unless he's around you. I thank you for that, just knowing Jack really does have a tender side makes my heart swell.
Although you doubled your birth weight in the first two months, you slowed down considerably this month. You weigh 16.6 pounds, only a few pounds more than last month. I have no idea how tall you are because you are a wiggly little booger.
You are very drooly. You are teething already. Both of your brothers had a tooth by around four months, and it's looking like you will be closely behind them. You drool A LOT. And you chew on things like a puppy, so I can tell your gums are already bothering you a little bit.
You are not a very big feller. You are chubby, but you are chubby on a small frame, if that makes sense. I packed away all of your 0-3 month clothing on your 3 month birthday. Not because you outgrew it, but because I was tired of looking at it. You just stopped wearing a size 1 diaper and moved up to a size 2, so that ought to tell you something. Even though you are small, you still have fat rolls all over the place and an extra chin.
You are also a good sport. Not many babies would tolerate the eye patch treatment from Jack. You couldn't have possibly cared less.
Your baby hair is falling out in random places, and I'm sorry to see it go. I have never had a baby with hair before, and I can tell you it's overrated after it starts to fall out. Your hair is very soft and just a little wavy, not coarse or curly like your brothers. It may change, and it may not. It is very dark though, and your skin is getting a little darker every day.
Your legs are very strong already, and I can tell you will be just like your brothers with your athletic agility. You are already sitting up well with a little support, and can push yourself all the way up with your chest off the ground if you are on your tummy. You can also scoot forward really well, but we don't let you do it often because you don't keep your head up and nobody likes a baby with rug burn on their forehead.
I waited to give both of your brothers solids until they were six months old. You will start at four months, because you are ready. When you watch us eat, you open your mouth and follow our food intently. You stick out your tongue and lean towards us when we are eating. You still don't nurse well, but you are better than last month when you were on strike. Some days you nurse all day long, and some days you refuse to nurse the entire day. You are picky like that, and it drives me nuts.
You still sleep very well, and for that Mama is very very thankful.
And lastly...
You are CUTE. And you are LOVED. And you are GREAT little baby.
And did I mention how much we love you?
