All right little feller. You have had a very busy month! You have already traveled through 8 states and have covered a few thousand miles of territory in your short life. You are handling the car ride of our summer trip like the champ that you are, and we are all very thankful. The first day you struggled a little bit, and were pretty much miserable, but after the first day you behaved better than anyone else in the car. Way to go little buddy.
Speaking of little, you are NOT little. You are becoming quite the chub, clocking in at 14 pounds. Both of your brothers were chubby when they were babies, too so I'm not completely surprised. You are currently on a nursing strike, and I'm not happy with you at all about it. The problem is that you are a greedy and hungry baby and don't have the patience to nurse. It takes too long and you really don't have that kind of time. We are going to keep trying for a few more weeks and then I'm throwing in the towel.
Here's a gratuitous picture of you in all your mostly naked and chubby glory. Man boobs, muffin-top and all.
You have started drooling in quantities that really ought to dehydrate you, but since you feed every two hours during the day, I think you are protected from the perils of drooling. And just in case you think I'm over-exaggerating...
Yes, you feed every TWO HOURS during the day, sometimes every hour and a half. But you know what, that's OK. Why? Because you sleep like you are trying to gold medal in sleeping, that's why. You started sleeping through the night at around six weeks old, and it's not abnormal for you to clock 9 straight hours of sleep at night. And boy do you wake up hungry. So I feed you and then you go back to sleep for at least another three hours. When you finally wake up for the day, you eat all day long.
You are a happy baby. The only time you cry is when you are hungry or when one of your brothers accidentally whacks you with a toy or something. Your bad belly issues have resolved, and you are the most easy-going baby ever. Your brothers spoil you rotten and you love watching them play. You want to be around them all the time, and if they leave the room you fuss until one of them comes back to get you. You have a little lounging pillow that you sit on next to them at all times. You love to be near them, and that makes me happy.
I'm constantly having to tell your brothers to back off and give you some room to breathe.
Jack adores you! Don't take that for granted. Jack adores no one.
