I have had a kid in my bed for the past 22 years. I think we had a very brief break between Shandi and Justice, but it wasn't long. We realize co-sleeping does not work for everyone, but it worked for us. We loved having them with us while they were small.
And last week, we lost our last co-sleeper. Just like potty training, it happened fast and without any warning whatsoever.
It was a sudden announcement.
"I'm not sleeping with you anymore. I'm sleeping in my own bed."
He packed his books and his pillow and he was gone. Just.Like.That.
Surely it wouldn't last, I thought… Oh it lasted all right. He hasn't looked back since. He wandered into my room once in the past week, and that was it.
I think this all started because we switched the boys rooms around. This room used to be the playroom, but Santa is bringing the boys a pretty big game table so we had to switch the rooms around so there would be enough room. Bo really liked the new set up and the day I switched everything around was the day he decided to sleep in his own bed.
I miss the little guy.
Jack could probably do without him, hahaha! Nobody needs to have their eyelids peeled open by an annoying two year old at 5:30 AM. Poor Jack.
Congratulations little buddy. As always, you handle your business at full speed and give it all you've got.
